Notice: Pacific Southwest Railway Museum's
Rail Excursions to Old Mexico
Tunnel #3 on the Mexican railway portion of the line (The Tijuana & Tecate Railway) has recently suffered a fire. At this time, all Ticket to Tecate trains have been suspended. This is a devastating blow to our Museum operations, and we encourage you to come up to Campo to experience our other train operations and Museum. If and when any additional details become known on potential future Ticket to Tecate trains, we will post that information here. Please check back with us from time to time.
Please note that the Tecate trips are by reservation only. The Department of Homeland Security requires passenger manifests to be submitted in advance for all trips to Mexico. The Museum will be unable to accommodate reservation-less walk-up passengers on the morning of a trip to Mexico. Thanks for your understanding.

The train departs on time, so arrive well in advance of scheduled departure (drive time is approximately 80-minutes from downtown San Diego). There is plenty of free parking at the depot. Boarding begins 30-minutes before scheduled departures.

Once in Tecate, lunch or dinner is up to you. Bring a picnic, dine in one of Tecate's many restaurants or nibble on pastries from the food booths or panadarias. There is a special rhythm to be absorbed on a Saturday afternoon in the cheerful town plaza.
